Artificial Intelligence and Software Engineering Cluster

The Artificial Intelligence and Software Engineering Research Group was established in 2007, bringing together researchers from the Artificial Intelligence and Software Engineering clusters. The focus of this group is the development of applied and basic research involving interdisciplinary concepts from artificial intelligence, mobile technology, image and signal processing for creating intelligent solutions in various domains such as computer games, health information technology, mining, software engineering, and biometrics.

As indicated below, members have been involved in collaborative research projects with national and international academic collaborators as well as industry personnel.

Depending on the requirements and nature of the research projects, members of this group also collaborate with other synergistic groups within CRITS such as Computer Security and Information Systems.

In 2007, members form this research group have produced 2 book chapters, 6 refereed journal and 16 refereed conference papers. In terms of grants, some members together with their collaborators were also awarded a number of ECU internal grants as well as a Carrick grant. The 17 research students together with their supervisors have also undertaken a wide range of research projects as outlined in Section 5.
In addition, members of the group actively participated in a wide range of other activities which included media coverage, industry panel memberships, international program committees and industry engagement.
